AC Installation & Replacement

A new air conditioner is a 15-year decision. We size it to the house, install it like it matters, and prove the performance with instruments before we leave.

Most air conditioners do not die of old age — they die early from the day they were installed. Wrong size, sloppy line set, guessed-at charge, zero commissioning. The equipment gets blamed; the install was the culprit. We built our installation process to be the opposite of that story.

Sizing starts with your actual house: square footage, insulation, window load, duct capacity, and how the outgoing system really performed. Oversized units short-cycle and leave Fox Valley homes cold but clammy — humidity is half the battle here — while undersized ones lose the fight every July afternoon. The right answer comes from the building, not a rule of thumb.

Install day is where the money is earned: old equipment out, new condenser set level, line set pressure-tested and pulled to a deep vacuum, refrigerant charge weighed in to spec, drain and electrical done cleanly. Then commissioning with instruments — airflow, temperature split, pressures — because 'it blows cold' is not a measurement.

When replacement beats another repair

  • 12–15+ years old and facing a repair over a few hundred dollars
  • R-22 refrigerant — no longer produced, increasingly expensive to service
  • Compressor or evaporator coil failure — the repairs that rarely pencil out
  • Cooling bills climbing while comfort declines
  • Second or third repair in as many summers
  • Humidity the system can no longer control

Real options, real numbers, real discounts

You get written options at more than one price point — actual model numbers, actual efficiency ratings, actual totals. Right now that includes $175 off a single-unit replacement and $350 off a full furnace-and-AC system, valid through November 30, 2026.

Financing runs through Enhancify with approvals for credit scores as low as 550 and 0% promotional options for qualified buyers — apply online in minutes before committing to anything. And if your current system can be repaired sensibly, we will tell you that first. We would rather earn the replacement when it is genuinely time.

AC Installation FAQs

How long does an installation take?

Most straight replacements finish in one day. Duct modifications, electrical upgrades, or a paired furnace install can extend it — and you will know at the quote, not on install morning.

Why does install quality matter so much?

Because it decides whether you get the efficiency you paid for. A rushed vacuum leaves moisture in the lines, a guessed charge robs capacity, and unmeasured airflow hides duct problems. Our commissioning verifies all of it with instruments.

Do you take the old unit away?

Yes — old condensers, coils, and refrigerant are removed and disposed of properly. Nothing gets left at your curb.

Should the furnace be replaced at the same time?

If it is also past the 12–15 year mark, usually yes — the indoor coil sits on the furnace, the blower drives the AC's airflow, and pairing saves duplicate labor while unlocking the $350 full-system discount. A young furnace stays.
